Awake Again support

What it does

Awake Again is a shared log of your baby's sleep: each carer taps asleep and awake on their Apple Watch, and both iPhones show the same history. It works out wake windows from your baby's age or from times you set, and the watch buzzes as each window comes to an end.

How to get it

Awake Again is in beta on TestFlight, by invitation only. You need an iPhone, an Apple Watch and an iCloud account. To ask about joining, email hello@productized.ltd.

Questions

How do I invite my partner?

On your iPhone, open Settings, Household and tap Invite the other carer. Apple's sharing screen adds them by their Apple Account; there is no public link. Each carer needs their own iCloud account.

They open the invite on their iPhone, then open Awake Again. If their iPhone has no baby details yet, it asks for them, then their name. When it has worked, their Settings, Household says "Joined" followed by your household's name.

The other carer's taps are not showing. What should I check?

Open Settings, Sync check on both iPhones. It says in plain words whether this iPhone owns the household or joined it, when iCloud last accepted an upload from it, when it last read iCloud, when it last got an entry from the other carer, and any error word for word. Tap Sync now and check again, then compare the two screens. Anything in red is the place to look.

If you can't see the cause, screenshot both screens and send them with Send Beta Feedback or by email.

Why does the watch buzz, and what if it doesn't?

The watch asks to send notifications the first time you use it. It then buzzes as each wake window nears its end, and again if a window runs over. These alerts are marked Time Sensitive so they can come through a Sleep Focus.

If they stop, check that notifications for Awake Again are allowed on the watch, and that Time Sensitive notifications are allowed in the Focus you use at night.

What is the difference between By age and Custom wake windows?

In Settings, Wake windows. By age is the default: one window all day, taken from an age table, which changes as your baby gets older. Custom lets you set your own daytime window, and optionally a separate final window for the evening, for example from a plan agreed with your sleep consultant or health visitor. You can choose a date for Custom to go back to By age.

It is one setting for the household: both phones and both watches use it. On the watch, one tap switches a single wake to the other window, for a late or skipped nap.

How do I delete my data?

See Deleting your data below.

Deleting your data

On your iPhone, open Settings, Delete all data. It offers Export all data first, which makes one JSON file and CSV files of everything that iPhone holds for your household (journal recordings are not included). Then it asks you to confirm, and to type a word, before anything is deleted. It cannot be undone.

Smaller things: to delete one journal note and its recording, open it in Journal; that removes it from the other carer's iPhone too. Remove this entry hides an entry and can be undone, so it is a correction, not a deletion.
